Matvey the Cat died today, so I feel like I should let this blog go.

I found him on the lawn this evening; either hit by a car, shot or attacked.  He was my first kitty ever and we all loved him.  He was 2 and a half years old.
I have another blog, http://www.xanga.com/RufusBeans so I'll post there,  There are certain peoples' blogs I can't access using the rufus blog, so I might have to make another a username to read those blogs.

Bean is starting a trial month of gymnastics today.  I am so nervous!  There's the money, yes (costs 1 skein of yarn a month) but there is also other things like: she is going to start in the 3-4 class, not the  18 month-3 class.  and preschool and dance and swimming..will she just be so worn out?

But nothing for her to do here..due to the fact that several of our floors are underconstruction, and all her toys are still packed.  she colors all day long..watches teletubbies...colors some more...watches Aurther..goes to the playground...colors until bedtime....

K introduced herself at the park several times today as "Princess"  where the heck did that come from, LOL!   She also clapped her hands at V tonight
and said "You're being naughty!"

Not a word from the preschool yet.  Parent Orientation is the 30th and you are suppost to be assigned at time for the child to meet their teacher before then.  Not a word.  Getting nervous.

Well I did it.  preschool #1 called back and their one slot was open, so i filled out the reg sent them a check for first month's tuition.

I hope I did the right thing.

This one is close, biking distance if KNOCK ON WOOD the car breaks down.  She'll be with kids she'll go to kindy with.......

Ok  preschools.

This one was nice.  It was in a church, but only 2 small rooms.  Smallsmall rooms.  There were only 4 kids signed up so far.  Pro/con?  I don't know.  Less kids to choose best friend from.

Its also far away.  Its about 15 minutes of driving. That worries me abit in the winter.

Con:  Kids are not from Fairview, no local buddies
Pro:  teachers were nice and Katya LOVED the toys

But I don't know..she said "oh we start with colors, all eight of them!  "  ugh colors seem a bit beyond Katya, she's known them since before she could talk.  what about learning to cut, learning hold a pencil, leaning to write the letters.

Con: no outside playground.  they do activities in the church rec room.
Looks like it rents the church.

$70 a month. (preschool #1 $68, preschool #2 $65)

#1 and #2 are also in churches.  I guess thats why we can afford them.

#1 in Fairview, but have to cross active railroad tracks.  3 miles away.  Nice play ground.  Big class rooms.  Lots of classrooms.  Application was gruiling though.  Only one spot left.

#2 along the way to #3 but closer.  In a church, haven't visited but we drove by and the church is under construction, could see about 3 classrooms through the window.

How important are academics?  How important is play?  I don't know but I know what it feels like to go to Kindergarden and be the only one who's never been to preschool

I think we're going to apply for #1 and if that spot is filled,do #3.  She can always do a more academic program next year.
